By CNIC:
Honestly, there is no specific tool to find the reference number and customer ID using your CNIC. But yes, you can go to the nearest customer care center with your CNIC and the address of your meter and ask them to search for your reference number by CNIC or the address of your meter. This method works in most cases.

Meter reading information:
Every month, on the same date, a dedicated meter reader from LESCO takes snapshots of the meters of each consumer. This reading is called the current reading. And the one recorded the previous month is called the previous reading. Based on these readings, they calculate the units consumed in that particular month (billing cycle/billing month).
Previous Reading: The reading noted at the beginning of the billing cycle.
Current Reading: The reading noted at the end of the billing cycle.
Units Consumed: The difference between the previous reading and the current reading.
What is MIS in LESCO?
Management information system (MIS) is an internal reference number that LESCO uses for its record keeping. MIS helps the company to manage, track, and verify the bills in its system when needed. As consumers, we need not worry about it, because MIS is for their internal use (data-driven decision making) only.
Charges & Costs:
The LESCO bill is calculated on the basis of units consumed, tariff rates, monthly surcharges, other taxes, and price adjustments. As mentioned below:
Electricity Cost:
This is calculated on the basis of units consumed and tariff rates. Tariff rates vary with the number of units consumed in each month.
Fuel Price Adjustment (FPA):
These charges are calculated based on the usage of fuel to generate electrical power. You can see these charges in the fuel cost section of your bill.
Quarter Adjustment:
This amount is charged after every three months, based on the fluctuation of tariffs or any other power costs.
Meter Rent:
Meter rent, 8 rupees per month per meter, is irrespective of units consumed.
Late Payment Charges:
An extra amount is charged to you if you don’t pay your bill by the due date.
F.C Surcharges:
Financing cost surcharges are an amount charged by LESCO to each consumer at the rate of 0.43%.
Arrears:
The amount pending from the previous bill is called arrears.
Net Amount:
Total payable amount, the sum of all charges mentioned above, before the due date.
Taxes:
There are different kinds of taxes: General Sales Tax and Income Tax.
Meter Details:
There are three types of meters that are produced by different electronics companies, like PEL, KBK Electronics, and MicroTech Industries, etc.
Types of Meters:
Electromechanical Meters
Old technology meters have rotating discs.
Digital LCD Display Meters
Upgraded kinds of meters showing energy consumed, instantaneous Power, and a lot of other details.
Smart Meters (AMI)
The latest meters, which automatically send the readings to LESCO.
Important Information on the Meter:
These energy meters measure the electricity in kWh (kilowatt-hour) units. Information displayed on the LESCO meters is:
Notifications and Instructions:
LESCO provides different notifications and instructions on the WAPDA bill, SMS alerts, and its official portal. This includes Customer ID, Reference Number, units consumed in the current month, previous 12 months’ bill, payable within and after due dates, tariff information, ways to save electricity, ways to pay the bill, how to read the meter, and a lot of other instructions to keep their users updated and informed about the latest notifications and news about their electricity bills.
Meter reading via sms:
LESCO offers an outstanding service of SMS updates for its consumers. This service includes continuous notifications about units consumed on and before the reading date. In this way, consumers are helped in making their decisions and controlling their electricity usage. Users can plan their consumption and hence avoid any kind of overbilling.
Infrastructure maintenance:
LESCO has a very large power distribution system. To run this system, it needs a great infrastructure, including power distribution lines, grid stations, transformers, meters, and WAPDA offices across its coverage area. Now, to ensure a smooth power supply, LESCO needs to do regular maintenance of this infrastructure.
For maintenance, LESCO has dedicated teams to do regular checkups and inspections of supply lines, routine inspections of transformers & feeders, and quick repair of any faults.
Power Theft Prevention:
Power theft is a big and serious issue, particularly in rural areas. It not only affects the smooth power supply, but unit rates and tariffs are also increased due to this obnoxious act. Furthermore, line breakdown and power losses are also a result of power theft (kunda system).
Being a responsible citizen of Pakistan, the responsibility of power theft prevention falls on our shoulders as well. What can we do? Well, 1st of all, we should avoid any illegal activity ourselves. Then we can register our complaints about any suspicious activity around us.

Continuous Research & Development:
To ensure a smooth power supply system, LESCO has a dedicated department of research & development (R&D). The key function of this department is to align the system with modern technologies and continuously improve it. The main operations include:
LESCO Helpline:
If there is any query related to LESCO, a problem in the supply line, or a loadshedding issue, you can contact the LESCO helpline (118) anytime for any query. How to contact LESCO? Click here.
Tips to Save Electricity:
Turn off all extra lights, fans, and other electrical appliances.
Use LED lights and energy savers. Don’t use a normal bulb.
Instead of using normal old technology TVs, use LED TVs.
From 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM, use as little electricity as you can.
Shopkeepers should turn off extra lights when there are no customers.
Instead of using regular air conditioners, use an inverter AC.
Place the outside part of the AC under some kind of shade.

The action carried out to reduce the load on something is called load-shedding. Especially in the case of electricity supply, they intentionally cut the demand to manage the electric supply within a safe timeframe. Now LESCO does the same to manage the demand and supply. Since we are living in Pakistan, and in Pakistan, we have a much higher demand than our power production. To balance this out, LESCO has a schedule of load shedding.
Load-shedding disturbs everyone’s work, especially for industrial units, workshops, markets, and students. But you can plan your work according to the load-shedding schedule. Congratulations! You can get to know your load-shedding schedule here.

The history section, having 5 columns, shows you the month, units consumed, bill amount, adjustment (if any), and final payable amount. For better understanding, have a look at the picture below.
